CREATIVE EXPRESSION The fallen sun asylum is a collection of lunatics.  In an attempt to experiment with how humans communicate and share stories we explore as many visual mediums as possible.  These are single narrative experiments told using vastly differing tools.  To push our artistic abilities in multiple directions while finding a focus has been the goal since the asylum was founded after the massacre of Mount Hiei in 1571.  A still unfinished quest.

All of the asylums projects are featured in the gallery and both successes and failures are on display.  Projects are grouped according to medium including animations, drawings using pen and ink, charcoal and pencil, mixed media, flash website design, scribblings, traditional/digital/miniature paintings and photo journalism and manipulation.
TEMPLE SERVICES Here at the fallen sun asylum it's not always random scribblings and daily shock treatments.  Visiting from our temple complex in Nara Master Do has begun a series on the three meditations.   We also have a selection of digital dharma works by ancient zen masters of old.

A few journal entries from brother tomas' record "the infinite path" taken directly from his journey to find himself during his most troubled times. Through it all he developed a strength he never knew he possessed.  Beware the knowledge you can gain here for once you travel down this path you can never use history again as an excuse. And finally if you find yourself in the New Edo area included are directions to the physical space the asylum currently occupies.
ONLINE TYRANID PAINTER I send this message out to my most valued associates to quickly uncover the truth for I fear we are running out of time.  With reports of major Tyranid Hive Fleet engagements across his Most Holy Majesty the God-Emperors Kingdoms,  we find an urgent need to put our past disagreements aside and share our resources to deal with this xenos threat immediately. This was a personal project created from scratch using the entire creative design suite 4 of adobe products (Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Flash) that features an online miniature painter for warhammer 40k.

Welcome to the fallen sun asylum

Creations from nothingness, subconscious meditation session excerpts, the dead lotus society and reflections on existence through the exploration of Zen mindfulness are only a few disciplines you can discover here.  Fallen sun asylum dot org is our connection to the digital universe for those unable to attend our physical temple in New Edo.

I am Initiate Jonu and have been assigned to show visitors around the temple grounds. There are brief descriptions of each region of the asylum on the boards posted throughout the guest center.

If you have any questions about the fallen sun asylum that I cannot answer please contact guest services or leave a comment in our garden area. Please do not rush yourself. The asylum may take awhile to traverse, enjoy it and live in the only single moment you will ever exist, right now. Seconds and minutes are mortals attempts at measuring infinity. Oh and one final thing, who knows what you could find if you open the right door, hidden things exist throughout the temple and throughout your mind.  Perhaps one will help you open the other.

Directly below here in our gallery area is the current exhibition of grandmaster fu "... and all the imperfections of humanity part four" containing over 100 of his works over the last 97 years. Clicking a thumbnail will bring up a larger image. Please feel free to look at them all if you have the time and let him know what you think about his work.  We will pass along the message, Granmaster Fu rarely ventures out of his garden but when he does he is covered in carbon from his mad scribblings. For now you can leave incense sticks lit to acknowledge a particular favorite.

Fallen Sun Asylum dot org has undergone a huge renovation as a result of the assault on the asylum in the winter of 2009 by Dividian and his void assassins. Foot Master Mako has not been seen since giving pursuit to Dividian's minions.  But he is a ninja and so wasn't seen much before as well.  The dust is still settling and doors may open to distance lands, so please be careful.  If you happen to come across any dangerous encounters please leave a note with initiate zao in guest services and a clean up crew will be promptly dispatched. Oh and finally, please close all gates you pass to make sure you don't let out any of our more troubled members from the middle core of the asylum.  They have been particularly agitated since hearing rumors of the last member of the brotherhood of the final order being alive.

And so it begins... Started my comic book finally.  I will be dedicating most of my time and energy into creating this on a steady basis.  Thank you to all my friends over the years that have seen this in its many incarnations.  And I dedicate it to my mother and father without whom nothing would be possible.

So I will be posting the pages here.
